ENTERING HONORS PROGRAM CLASS OF FALL 2023:

After you have been admitted to Georgia Tech, you will receive an email from the Office of Admissions inviting you to apply for admission to the Honors Program.  Students admitted for the summer or fall term begin in the fall.  First year students are not admitted to the Honors Program in the spring term.  Our selection process is holistic: our goal is to identify students who will benefit from and contribute to our Honors Program Living Learning Community.  We give primary consideration to the following:

            (a) Honors Program application essays.

            (b) Information from the Georgia Tech Office of Undergraduate Admission.

For first-year students, the Honors Program fee is $800. Honors Program students will be charged $400 in fall semester and $400 in spring semester of their first year.  There is no fee after the first year.  Our entering class each fall is limited by the design of our Honors Program residence hall.  Gender-inclusive housing is available for Honors Program students.  To read more about gender-inclusive housing at Georgia Tech, visit the Housing website.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR HP ENTERING CLASS MAY FILL BEFORE THE DEADLINE: In order to officially accept your invitation to the HP, you must first complete your Housing contract and Georgia Tech deposit.  We encourage you to accept your invitation as soon as possible, as we fill our positions on a first-come, first-served basis until we reach the capacity of our residence halls, so your space is not guaranteed until you accept. If we are unable to confirm your admission, you can choose to join our waitlist and we may be able to confirm your admission later, should space become available.

GEORGIA TECH HONORS PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE AGREEMENT FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

  • I agree to pay the Georgia Tech Honors Program first-year program fee of $800, assessed in fall 2023 ($400) and spring 2024 ($400).  I understand that my participation is contingent on payment of this program fee and that there is no fee for subsequent years of participation in the Honors Program.

  • I agree to participate in the required Honors Program Retreat for entering students on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

  • I agree to live in Eighth Street Apartments in fall 2023 and spring 2024.  I understand that if I choose to live on campus during my second year in fall 2024 and spring 2025, I will be required to live in Eighth Street Apartments with the Honors Program once again, and that I may not choose to live elsewhere on campus.  I understand that I am not required to live in on-campus housing as a second-year student but—should I choose to do so—my only on-campus housing option will be to remain in Eighth Street Apartments. I understand that, if I choose not to remain in Eighth Street Apartments for my second year, I must relocate and live in off-campus housing. Further, I understand that I do not have to commit to living in Eighth Street Apartments for my second year until the housing application opens in spring 2024 (i.e., a decision does not need to be made now, at the time of your admission to the Honors Program), but that I must commit by February 15, 2024 to reserve my space in Eighth Street Apartments.

  • I understand that I will have the option to continue to live with my fellow Honors Program students in Eighth Street Apartments after my second year.  Housing for upper-year students is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed.

  • I agree to enroll in at least one Honors Program Class in 2023 - 24. I understand that if I complete 15 credit hours of Honors Program classes over the course of my matriculation at Georgia Tech, I will receive the recognition of “Completion of the Honors Program,” including notation on my transcript.  I understand that if, instead, I complete 9 – 14 credit hours of Honors Program classes over the course of my matriculation at Georgia Tech, I will receive the recognition of “Participation in the Honors Program,” but will not receive notation on my transcript.

  • I agree to be a good citizen of the Honors Program, Georgia Tech, and the larger community by taking advantage of Honors Program classes, events, and activities; supporting my fellow Honors Program students; building relationships with Honors Program faculty; and getting to know and drawing on the support of the Honors Program staff.
